The PADI Tec 50 course is the final step in the PADI Tec Deep Diver program, designed for divers who want to explore depths beyond recreational limits. It qualifies divers to conduct technical decompression dives to a maximum depth of 50 meters, using two decompression gases, including enriched air and up to 100% oxygen.
Here's a breakdown:
  • Certification
  • Upon successful completion, divers are certified to plan and conduct technical dives independently to 50 meters, carrying two stage cylinders for accelerated decompression. Depth Limit:
  • The maximum depth for Tec 50 dives is 50 meters (165 feet). 
  • Equipment:
  • Divers use technical scuba diving equipment, including twin sets and stage cylinders, and may use trimix on the last dive if required. 
    Decompression:The course focuses on accelerated decompression using enriched air (up to 100% oxygen) and two decompression gases. 
    Course Structure:
    The course typically involves self-study, academic sessions, and four open water dives over three days. 
    Advanced Training:The Tec 50 course builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in Tec 45, introducing more complex dive planning, equipment handling, and emergency management techniques. 
  • Trimix Option:
    Divers can opt to complete the course using trimix (with up to 40% helium content in the back gas) to decrease narcosis and gas density at depth

To enroll in the Tec 50 course, you must:

    • Be a PADI Tec 45 diver or equivalent.
    • Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, with at least 20 dives on enriched air nitrox deeper than 18 metres/60 feet and 15 dives deeper than 30 metres/100 feet
    • Be at least 18 years old

E-Learning is not included : 120eu.

Note that qualifying certifications from other diver training organisations are welcome - ask your PADI Tec Diver Instructor.

Trimix option available @ 0.10c litre of helium.
